More Than Me

Does the proud mountain wish
That there was someone taller he could look up to?
Does mother earth yearn
For someone to sing her a lullaby?
Does the bright blue sky feel
Someone would hold him when darkness falls?
Does the lonely wind dream
About someone fast enough to chase her?
I have pictured you, strong
Enough to mother me
I have pictured you, wise
Enough to follow me
I have pictured you, kind
Enough to make me glow
I could look after you
And you know, I would
But sometimes I shouldn't need to
I'm tired...
Are you out there?

For Now

Just bathing in the sunset
Just waiting for the sunrise
Wearing a grey dawn
Before the light wakes in your eyes

Just fishing in my pockets
Just watching the birds fly
There are keys I lost
To love I stole on the sly

Just throwing my longings
Into the blue ocean
With all my belongings
Light, I'll join you...
In the sun

People In the Grey

Some times I almost see through her
White mist between dreams dries
For a moment the sun is no more
Behind giant wings as over me she flies

Demented fairies lie still
They hate shampoo trickling down
They whisper from cracks in her lips
Why wake a slumbering ghost-town?

She reminds me of places I’ve never been
Soppy songs I’ve never liked
I’m not safe with her nor she with me
A risk she says she doesn't mind

So I soak her into my muddy socks
And taste her in stale cake
I don’t love her or like her even
But she’s a feeling I don’t want to shake
